An old picture, but one I love looking at, Hyperion

This picture just says everything by itself.  Quite amazing.  Hyperion is a small moon of Saturn’s, but it shows a big mystery.  What exactly makes Hyperion look like that?  It looks like a sponge!  Primarily water ice, it has a very low density, and loosely held together.
