Creationist Youtubers don’t like debate

There’s a video on Youtube that makes the absurd argument about how if the Big Bang was true, then everything would be pulled apart, including our solar system.  Well, this post isn’t about that.  It’s about the video’s discussion.  That is, the comments are pending approval, and the only comments that get approved are ones that support the creationist’s video.  Any form of debate is prevented.  Why?  Probably because the creationist is afraid that someone who actually knows something about science will say something contrary to their argument.  But, I guess it’s useless to argue against fundamentalists.  They’ll believe what they believe and push logic and reason aside.

The word of God is truth?  The word of God was written by people.  People write books.  I guess any old book could be thought of as truth.  Imagine if Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey were the Bible.  I have to wonder what religion would be like.

  1. Another video:
The video is by an atheist, but there’s a nice little debate about whether evolution is a science. The creationist taco1010 doesn’t seem to listen, and even takes to insulting the atheist, me. I probably shouldn’t be arguing with him.

  2. Not just comments being screened, but they don’t even let you rate that video!

  3. Yeah, they want to make sure they don’t get low ratings or any comments that disagree with them.

  4. I’ve found that even when you can freely comment on YouTube that the overwhelming majority of comments are childish dribble or the ravings of a lunatic. Any reasonable or skeptical POV is instantly crushed under a mountain of ad hominem attacks and irrelevant nonsense. JMHO of course. 😉

  5. They are definitely childish. Though I did get myself into another debate with a creationist who described the Bible as an accurate historical textbook. The last thing I asked was “Who witnessed the whole Adam an Eve part to be able to write about it?” I never got a response. This person believed that ID should be taught in biology.

However, I replied to someone who was swearing like crazy because he was upset about something, and I said that no one will take him seriously if all he does is swear. Would you believe that he apologised??? He admitted that he shouldn’t have posted while so upset 🙂
